My work revolves around the duality of permanence and impermanence. It embodies ideas of fragility, trace and time, and is informed by an exploration of the Still Life genre.
My practice concerns what remains and has evolved from my experience as an archaeologist and ethnographer.
I work with domestic items that transform into objects of otherness and carry an elemental charge.
At present I am investigating the significance of casting and photography in my practice, both having an indexical relationship with its original and representing by leaving a trace of one material upon another.
